Have you heard of rewilding?

Imagine if our grass verges were all mini habitat gardens, collectively creating a green corridor for our smallest native species, alive with birds, bees and butterflies doing their part for the wellbeing of our environment and our communities.

Like mini urban forests...

Landscape Architect Barbara Schaffer shares her passion and vision as she chats to Voices of Wentworth about Rewild Bondi, the community group she’s recently launched with the support of the Waverley Council Small Grants Program and the Jewish Sustainability Initiative

Barbara’s wild mission is to transform the nature strips of North Bondi from grass to vibrant native gardens, providing habitat to nurture biodiversity, and creating a place for locals to come together to admire the beauty of it all!

We hope you’ll be inspired to reimagine our smaller public spaces and perhaps take up this initiative in your own suburb, ultimately regreening our city, one verge at a time.

Bravo Barbara and Rewild Bondi!
